Andean Health and Development

Transforming the healtcare sector in Ecuador to improve the quality of life of the three million children with severly limited access to quality healthcare by training physician teachers to train a national workforce of family physicians using 21st century technology.

Carolina for Kibera

Decreasing childhood mortality rates in the Kibera mega slum in Kenya by providing hygiene behavior training. The project will aslo create a sustainable, locally managed system of 100 trained community health care promoters, serving 10,000 households with basic care, health education and monitoring. 

Global Hunger Project

Health and Nutrition program, training 'animators' in eight countries in Africa to improve access to childhood vaccines, prenatal and antenatal care, anti malarial bed nets and more.

Georgetown University Medical Center

Expansion of their Remote Village Project to promote community development, health and sanitation in rural communities in Honduras.

Project C.U.R.E.

Supporting a three-year program, adding one Helping Babies Breath master trainer to the C.U.R.E. clinic teams traveling to Belize, Mexico, Peru, Ghana, Tanzania, India and Papua New Guinea to address birth asphyxia and reduce mortality rates.

Project Orbis

Ensuring quality eye care services for millions of children in South Asia by establishing a network of pediatric eye care centers throughout India and Bangladesh.

The Carter Center

To make a difference in the lives of Liberians suffering mental illnesses by comprehensively training mental health care providers and building supportive environments in local communities.

Wyman Center

Supporting the expansion of the Teen Outreach Program, which provides crucial support and opportunites to adolescents to decrease negative youth behaviors and school dropout rates.

National Childhood Cancer Foundation

RMHC funds will support the training of child life specialists to help children with cancer deal with pain management, end of life care and best practices for working with adolescents.

 

MiracleFeet

RMHC funds will support the treatment of clubfoot for children in Ecuador through the Ponseti method. The project will train local doctors in this method and will enable 960 children born with clubfoot to walk, run and become productive members of society.

 

Partners in Health

RMHC funds will support the extension and enhancement of high-quality health care delivery to rural poor in Rwanda by training generalists and maternal and neonatal healthcare professionals in three hospitals and 36 health centers in topics such as nutrition, reproductive health, family planning and HIV prevention.

Curamericas Global
RMHC funds will support two separate projects operated under Curamericas Global. First, RMHC funds will support the health of mother and children in rural Guatemala through the replication of Curamericas' Casa Materna project. Second, RMHC funds will support a 'Community Case Management' program in Nimba County, Liberia.

 

East Meets West Foundation
RMHC funds will support the East Meets West Dental program which increased access to dental care in rural areas of Vietnam. In particular, the Grant funding will enable the purchase and maintenance of dental equipment and supplies; transportation costs; educational materials; and, administrative expenses associated with their train-the-trainer program.

 

INMED Partnerships for Children
RMHC funds will support 'phase 2' of the Healthy Babies project in Peru which strengthens local capacity to improve maternal and infant health outcomes. Funding will be focused on specialized training; education and dissemination of health education resource materials; and, the development and implementation of maternity waiting homes.

 

IVUmed
RMHC funds will support IVUMed's urological/surgical capacity building programs in Africa, Vietnam and Haiti. RMHC will support not only surgical care, but also education to equip physician and nurses with the skills they need to provide the service independently.

 

Lwala Community Alliance
RMHC funds will support the 'Safe Babies' program which aims to decrease infant and mother mortality rates in Kenya. RMHC support will help educate Community Health Workers; provide a facility-based delivery by a clinician and Community Health Worker; establish a rapid transport network; and, offer home-based follow-up post delivery.

 

ReSurge International
RMHC funds will support ReSurge's Global Burn Project in India and Nepal which has two components: 1) a relationship-based, train-the-trainer, comprehensive burn care model that will integrate pre and post-operative care into daily nursing functions; and 2) access to burn care through surgical outreach.

 

 

The State University of Iowa (on behalf of Ponseti International Association)
RMHC funds will support fellowships, site visits and training in 20 countries to expand the number of healthcare providers who can effectively treat children with clubfoot using the 'Ponseti Method.'

 

Surgeons of Hope Foundation
RMHC funds will support three training mission to Nicaragua that will focus on training local medical staff in pediatric cardiology surgical practices.

 

Wyman Center
RMHC funds will support the replication of the Wyman Teen Outreach Program (TOP) through the selection and training of certified partners in the United States. TOP is an evidence-based, youth development program that provides crucial supports and opportunities to adolescents to decrease negative youth behaviors and school dropout rates.
