Through its U.S. Scholarship program

RMHC and participating Chapters open the door to education for high achieving students who have demonstrated leadership, community involvement and academic excellence.

Brian and Sara are just two RMHC Scholars who are achieving their academic dreams with the help of an RMHC Scholarship. Each was awarded the prestigious RMHC/HACER National Scholarship for Hispanic students – a $100,000 scholarship to help finance their college tuition.

Meet Brian Campos

Brian was a 2008 recipient of the RMHC/HACER National Scholarship and is a recent graduate of Harvard University with a concentration in neurobiology and citations in Mandarin and French. Brian was born and raised in New York City and proud of his Peruvian heritage.

“My mother has been my motivation to excel in school and fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor,” said Brian. “As a kindergartener I once scribbled a drawing of myself as a doctor. My mom still has this drawing and it’s a constant reminder of my lifetime goal.”

Brian began his professional career this August at the New York Stem Cell Foundation as a research technician.

Meet Sara Rodriguez

Sara was awarded the 2009 RMHC/HACER National Scholarship. Today, Sara is studying Organic Chemistry at Brown University where she will major in Mathematics and Italian Studies.

Sara was born in Los Angeles, moved to Mexico when she was 2-years-old and came back to South Central Los Angeles at the age of seven, where she grew up surrounded by poverty and violence. She knew the only way out was to pursue a higher education.

“I thank my mom for all she did, but mostly for instilling a love of learning and the meaning of an education in me,” said Sara. “She made me resilient.”

RMHC celebrates the heritage and diversity of our country by also offering the RMHC/African American Future Achievers, the RMHC/ASIA and the RMHC/Scholars scholarships, open to all high school seniors. Since 1985, RMHC has awarded more than $44 million to outstanding students.

Beginning October 1, 2012, students may apply online.

    the reason why i need this scholarship is because i have a set income and i am not currently working i recently graduated highschool and this scholarship would really help me. I am currently volunteering at a dental office while attending dental classes. I have also completed volunteer work at Harbor LA Clinic on September 27,2012.

    I am only a Sophmore in high. school. I am in real needs of this scholarship any willing to work no matter what the situation is I would love it and apreciated it if i were chosen. I will add this to my Goals list.

    Does Ronald McDonald House have scholarships for cardiac survivor. My son is a survivor had some learning disabilities but is now accepted into college. Stayed at RMH two years ago Hershey PA. Would be greatful!
