100,000 Gallons of Paint

If the walls of a Ronald McDonald House could talk, what would they say?

Maybe they’d say …

“We watched two boys receiving treatment at the hospital play every evening in the Play Room as kids, not kids with cancer.”

Or maybe they’d smile and say …

“I just love watching families walk through the doors of a Ronald McDonald House for the first time, greeted by our bright, welcoming colors, letting them know, ‘things are going to be okay.’”

Ronald McDonald House walls don’t just provide shelter and support for a community of people looking for strength during tough times. Thanks to the official paint provider of RMHC, Benjamin Moore, these walls light up the House. They are painted with bold splashes of color, warmth and welcoming that truly transforms the House into home

Like many great partnerships throughout the RMHC system, the relationship between Benjamin Moore and RMHC started in one community with a regional manager. The RMHC Chapter in Chicago asked if he had any interest in helping to paint the walls of their House programs. When he saw the House and the healing that happened within it, that manager couldn’t help but say yes. His support influenced other regional managers throughout the country to get involved with their local Ronald McDonald Houses and soon enough, the corporate offices pledged their support to the RMHC system.

Now, after more than a decade of generosity , Benjamin Moore has donated more than 100,000 gallons of paint to Houses across North America and considers RMHC its Charity of Choice.

“We are so honored to provide paint for the walls of Ronald McDonald Houses in North America,” says Eileen McComb, director of corporate communications, Benjamin Moore. “Our company has a commitment to pediatric welfare and sheltering those in need, and working with RMHC has been a perfect fit. We love being part of their mission – being part of the healing environment that is a Ronald McDonald House.”

The impact of RMHC can be felt in the millions of inspirational stories that play out every day inside the walls of a Ronald McDonald House. And if those walls could talk, they would definitely say “thank you to Benjamin Moore, for making shelter into the art and design of healing.”
