BrandSource Electrifies RMHC

BrandSource is in the business of equipping households across North America with appliances and electronics that make family rooms, living rooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms a little more entertaining and cozy.

But they are also in the business of helping to turn Ronald McDonald Houses into homes. In association with their key suppliers Maytag and Samsung, BrandSource makes all those rooms in Ronald McDonald Houses where families gather – playrooms, living rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms - into places that bring families together.

In essence, they electrify Ronald McDonald Houses. And families such as the Thompsons are grateful to be able to connect, relax, and relieve their stress with other families while watching a movie, cooking breakfast, or just doing laundry.

“We are so grateful to BrandSource for giving to the Ronald McDonald House,” said the Thompson family who stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati. “We were at the House for six months and, because of the generous donations, we were able to focus on getting our daughter well rather than worrying about where we would do laundry or prepare meals.”

Beyond the invaluable in-kind contributions that BrandSource gives to 197 Ronald McDonald Houses across North America, they offer financial and volunteer support to the Charity as well.

“Our success is directly attributable to the people of the communities that support our business,” says Bob Lawrence, CEO of BrandSource. “When those people have special needs that drive them to Ronald McDonald Houses, BrandSource wants to make sure to give back.”

At RMHC, there are certain corporate donors that go above and beyond the call of duty – donors whose support of RMHC is in the DNA of their business. BrandSource is one of those donors, and we can’t thank them enough.

I do not personally know anyone who has had to stay a a Ronald McDonald House, but in school I am writing an essay to persuade the students to donate to this wonderful charity.

Our daughter and son-in-law were able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house in Durham,NC while one of our twin grandsons had very serious heart surgery when he was only 5 days old. They stayed there again when the same little boy had to have more heart surgery at 18 months of age. I saw how the house works and all the great things that help make it a wonderful place for families who are scared and away from home to be with their child when they are being treated. In this day and time it truly was wonderful to see something that does so much good at so little cost to the families that are under so much stress.
The Ronald McDonald house is a blessing to all those who need to stay there. I will never hesitate to donate money to help keep them going,it is money well spent and happily given. If you have some extra cash, drop it in the donation box at your local Mcdonald's during the holidays. The money they receive does a great deal of good, I have seen it firsthand.
