Our Kind of Refreshment
At RMHC we know a thing or two about refreshment – that after a long day at the hospital, there is nothing like coming home, curling up in a cozy chair, and taking a deep breath.
When Coca-Coca first learned about the Ronald McDonald House program, back in 1974, they saw that the kind of refreshment they offered and the millions of icy cold Coke ‘aaaaaahhhs’ they’ve produced over the years, could be the perfect complement to the comfort and hope found within the walls of the House.
The Coca-Cola Company is a big part of the history of RMHC and in particular the Ronald McDonald House program. As our second most-tenured corporate sponsor, Coca-Cola has been there every step of the way as we have grown from one House in Philadelphia to 315 Houses across the world.
Starting with the very first House, Coca-Cola has offered a stocked vending machine to every Ronald McDonald House. Beverages in the machine are an affordable 25 cents each, and all the money collected goes to the House. Over the years, this program has raised more than $12 million worldwide.
In 1984, when RMHC was formally instituted, Coca-Cola became the second corporate donor, donating $1 million; significant funding that helped us to get our foot off the ground and expand the support we give to families.
Coca-Cola is also a key sponsor for many RMHC events, helping RMHC and its Chapters raise millions of dollars benefitting programs and services; their employees volunteer their time and their talents at local Ronald McDonald Houses around the world, and they continue to provide millions of dollars worth of in-kind donations to RMHC and its Chapters.
RMHC is very grateful for the longstanding relationship with Coca-Cola and its commitment to helping us provide hope, happiness and refreshment to more than 4.5 million children and families every year.

I have friends saving their poptops, as have I, but i am not sure what i am supposed to do with them. Is there an address i can send them to?
My son was born with special needs. During his many hospital visits and neurosurgerys RMHC has always been so welcoming. Now its our turn to try and give back a little. Help! -

Brian - thanks for your words about the simple things. It is good to know that the affordable Cokes at the House helped make life a little better for you. It's always good to hear from you!

I tell ya... as simple as it might sound, knowing that I could grab an ice-cold Coke for just a quarter while staying at RMHC Austin... that was quite the perk.
It's all the little things that RMHC does (and those that have partnered with them) to make sure guests are well taken care of.
God bless y'all! -
