Spring Clean Up!

Spring cleaning can be a tough task – white washing walls, getting those stubborn spots out of the carpet, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting – it’s exhausting.

But when it’s done, you always know it was well worth it.

The employees at BISSELL know especially well, because they’re in the business of helping households keep things nice and clean. In fact, there are 185 Houses in North America that Bissell is going the extra mile to maintain - 185 Ronald McDonald Houses helping millions of families stay together and close by their hospitalized child every year.

Each spring, BISSELL delivers more than $1,000 in cleaning products and supplies to Ronald McDonald Houses. Along with the vacuums and cleaners, brooms and brushes, they deliver a spring clean-up kit complete with volunteer t-shirts and ideas about hosting one of their signature Spring Clean Up Days.

BISSELL hosts several Spring Clean Up Day events in the U.S., Canada and Mexico where volunteers from the company and the BISSELL Pro-Cycling Team roll up their sleeves, pitch in and clean for RMHC. The Clean Up isn’t only an invaluable service for the Houses, it raises awareness for the Charity and inspires volunteerism in other communities.

“Each year BISSELL looks forward to working with RMHC to provide the tools and resources to create a clean and comfortable stay for their guests,” says Rich Sorota, BISSELL’s manager of global marketing and sales. “In 2011, North American Houses will receive more than $200,000 in BISSELL cleaning products for the annual Spring Clean Up.”

One mother who stayed at the Ronald McDonald House said that she valued it for “its perfection.” Its companies like BISSELL and volunteers like BISSELL’s employees that keep Ronald McDonald Houses looking perfect. And we thank them.
