Support Only Sisters Can Give
At Ronald McDonald House Charities family is everything.
Not only does RMHC know the value of family-centered care and strive to keep families together when they need it most, in essence, RMHC is a big family – a compassionate unit that has extensions in its Chapters, volunteers, advocates and donors.
While we all love our moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, crazy aunts and uncles, sometimes it’s our sisters that can offer an extra special dose of support. And RMHC has the best sisters around – the women of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority (ADPi). For more than 33 years ADPi has supported RMHC as its national philanthropy. Their relationship with the Charity is held up as a model to other corporate donors as they give back in three ways: through monetary, in-kind and volunteer contributions.
ADPi’s love for the Charity extends from its collegiate members to its alumnae. Being an RMHC advocate is synonymous with being an ADPi. Their organization is committed to recruiting and educating aspiring, altruistic young leaders who will follow and build off the legacy of the ADPi alumnae who were responsible for forging the relationship in 1979.
"ADPi is proud of its long-standing relationship with RMHC,” says Jennifer Webb, executive director, Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. “It truly benefits both organizations as our members gain an understanding of the value of philanthropic service and form a meaningful connection with the families that benefit from RMHC.”
ADPi’s support and advocacy for RMHC seems to keep gaining momentum as well. This year alone, the collegiate chapters and alumnae associations have raised more than $600,000 for Ronald McDonald Houses across the U.S. and Canada - a record-breaking figure! In total, ADPI has donated almost $6 million to RMHC. Additionally, many ADPi chapters and associations support RMHC with in-kind donations of products, supplies and meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses, and the organization provides more than 30,000 in volunteer hours to the Charity and its Chapters every year.
RMHC is so grateful for our big sisters – thank you Alpha Delta Pi.
